United Way & SeaWorld Show Appreciation to Leadership Donors
For the past 12 years, United Way and SeaWorld Orlando have teamed up to thank more than 2,500 of Central Florida’s most generous donors.
The 2009 United Way Leadership Appreciation Event, held Nov. 21, featured a special breakfast at SeaWorld Ports of Call, followed by a day of family fun in the park. Leadership donors – those giving $1,000 or more – contributed more than $4.2 million to help local people in need last year.
Speaking at the event, Jennifer Dirscherl, SeaWorld’s Director of Community Relations and Employee Events, and United Way President/CEO Robert H. (Bob) Brown thanked the group for their continued leadership and generosity, particularly in these difficult economic times.
“Thanks to your support, more than 364,000 Central Floridians received critical care and assistance through local agency programs funded, in part, by United Way,” Brown said. “Your philanthropic leadership is making a tremendous difference in improving lives and our community.”
