Supporting Central Florida Families: How You Can Make a Difference at Our Annual Community Baby Shower

WU Social Hour - Diaper Cake

Our Annual Community Baby Shower (CBS) is more than just an event—it’s a lifeline for Central Florida families with newborns and expecting families facing tough times. You see, it’s more than just diapers and baby clothes; it’s about lending a helping hand when it’s needed most.

In today’s world, the cost of having a child is increasing rapidly and more and more families are feeling the strain. That is why the support from community members like you is so important. Without your donations and volunteer time, we wouldn’t be able to support these families like we do.

Do you know the numbers?

  • Cost of Giving Birth: In 2024, the average cost of giving birth is a staggering $18,865. For families without health insurance, this can be a heavy burden.
  • Inflation Impact: With inflation on the rise, the cost of a baby’s first year now exceeds $15,000, eating up nearly 30% of the average family’s income.
  • Diaper Dilemma: Diapers may seem trivial, but they’re essential. Babies use up to 300 diapers a month, costing parents around $62.50 monthly, or $750 a year.

How can you help?

  • Donate Today: Your contribution, big or small, can make a world of difference to struggling families. Every dollar counts towards supporting parents and giving babies the best start in life.
  • Spread the Word: Share our donation link with your friends, family, and colleagues. Together, we can amplify our impact and reach even more families in need.
  • Get Involved: Looking to do more? Consider volunteering your time. Your support, whether through donations or hands-on help, is invaluable to us.
  • Donate Supplies: Provide essential items like diapers, wipes, formula, and baby clothes to families in need. Your generosity ensures that every newborn receives the care and support they deserve.

Let’s stand together and show our support for Central Florida families. Your generosity could be the hope someone desperately needs.
