Know Your Place: Film and Community Conversation

Blog Header 2025 01 16T155745.831

This Black History Month, Heart of Florida United Way and Central Florida Public Media have joined forces to present a powerful and timely event: an immersive pre-film experience and screening of Know Your Place, a thought-provoking film exploring Central Florida’s history of racism, segregation, and bias. This film features prominent community voices like Mayor Jerry L. Demings, Senator Geraldine Thompson, and Judge Belvin Perry Jr.

Following the film, a vital community conversation will bridge the experiences seen on screen with the realities of today. This shared experience offers a valuable opportunity for individuals of all ages, especially young adults, to learn from the past and help shape a more equitable future.
