Q: When did you join Emerging Leaders?
A: I joined Emerging Leaders when the Committee was coming together. I believe officially that was July of 2022.
Q: What inspires you as a leader?
A: What inspires me as a leader is my family. Growing up I got to see my parents work really
hard to give my siblings and I a better life in a country that they didn’t know the culture
and struggled to understand the language, but they did it! So, they inspire me to get up
every day and work hard. It’s like my own way of thanking them and letting them know all
their continuous hard work didn’t go to waste at all.
Q: What’s your favorite part of being in Emerging Leaders?
A: My favorite part of being in Emerging Leader is learning from everyone that I meet within
the group. My world expands a little more because of this awesome group of people that
make up Emerging Leaders.
Q: What’s been your favorite Emerging Leaders event/experience and why?
A: My favorite Emerging Leaders event so far has been the Buff City Soap Emerging Leader
networking event. It was such a fun time to just relax and have fun all while making soap. I
got to learn so much about my peers that day. And of course, all the laughs just made it
that much better!
Q: What’s your favorite way to unwind?
A: My favorite way to unwind is to either be home with my fiancé and dogs just enjoying our
time together.
Q: What’s the greatest advice you’ve ever received?
A: The greatest advice I have ever received was a phrase in Spanish, it’s “para atrás, ni para
agarrar impulso” which translates to “don’t go back even to gain momentum”. Meaning,
you should always look forward, if you mess up it’s not a ‘‘failure’’, but a valuable lesson to
learn from. So, regardless of what is challenging you at the time, you should always push
to move forward no matter what.
